Absolute Maddogs

     Ending the first week in August used to be the best few days of the year.  Actually, I should keep it simple and say that the entire beginning of August was the best, because now we're including the week at Loretta Lynn's down in Tennessee.  But after the dreadful heat and the pressure of racing that week, the days to follow were always good.  After Jimmy's last moto, we couldn't have gotten out of there any faster.  The drive from Tennessee to Mass is pretty long, but Keith Clickstein (KJC) is an animal and just goes straight through like it's nothing.
     It had become routine that every one would throw on some gear and go rip up the local pit the second we got in the driveway.  After sending out a few texts messages, we would arrive to what looked like a parking lot outside Jim's house.  Vans loaded with bikes ready to go.  Robby Marshall, Batten, Sottile, Williams, a ton of kids just jones'in to ride.  You don't have to be a fan of goon riding or anything to tell that you can't have any more fun on a bike than this:
