Up Next, THE MARSHALLS

Best Blogger Tips

Since about a year ago, Robby and I have been talking about shooting a video down his way.  He'd seen what we were putting out last year, Jim and I up here at the 207 and wanted to bring the action to the hills.  Didn't take long for me to say "I'm in" after hearing about what he's got down there; the track, trails, pits, and booters.  The only problem seemed to have been figuring out when we could do it.  He was busy, I was busy, and our times weren't matching up.  Now we got the leaves fallin and the temps dropping and knew something had to happen soon.  We were gettin the crew together for the shoot on what seemed like a daily basis but something always ruined it.  I'd been skipping classes and driving the 2 hours + to get there but time after time we had to reschedule.  The never ending rain wasn't doing us any favors.  Finally we had a sunny day so I was playin hooky again, myself and Mr. Mike Sottile.
I'm cruising down there getting blown side to side on the road and it starts to hit me that we may have gotten a new problem on our hands.  I get there and see the Marshall in the skid steer doing some work and he said he didn't care he was goin for it.  We took turns in the skid steer lippin' booters but while I was up above the pit getting some shots, my hat blew off and my shirt seemed about ready to shred off.  I felt like I could have spread my arms and just leaned forward to float with the wind.  So at this point, I'm thinking that this definitely is not a good idea.  230 foot gaps with 40 mph cross winds can't be safe, even the dare devils don't mess wit this.  But apparently maddogs do because they didn't seem to be too worried.  They were more interested in getting some nasty shots for the camera.  I felt responsible for this mess, it was pretty crazy for sure and second thoughts started to set in:
