Checking Out The Cali Scene

Best Blogger Tips

Winters here in the Northeast seem like an eternity; it is unbearably cold  and the ground is frozen solid.  Motocross becomes non-existant by December and we know it'll be months before we even consider riding again.  Our only glimpse of moto is what's available online and the oh so great "Mx vs. ATV Alive" which we need to force ourselves to like.  Florida takes on a wave of New Englanders every year around this time as friends and family convoy down I-95 to escape this place we call home sweet home.  For myself, five months of no (filming) riding/racing is too long and that wasn't an acceptable option.  A few guys from  Vurbmoto had a spot for me to crash at and the was step one.  With further assistance from BTO Sports, the trip was made possible.  Huge shout out and thanks to those guys.
This video was intended to sum up the trip, although I don't feel it does much justice.  I was tagging along with Vurb's Ryne Swanberg and we'd hit up a few tracks each of the weeks I was there.  Almost everyday was spent at a track, aside from the two days surrounding the Phoenix SX which consisted of what seemed like 50 hour drives through nothing but desert. The first few sightings of a cactus seemed cool, but then I realized they were all over the place.  Seeing snow was cool though, seems how we were in the middle of a desert:
Getting back on topic:  This video was supposed to have the a little bit of everything that was shot, but it doesn't.  And there are two reasons for this.  One, there was so much cool stuff that it's hard to make a vid that I think truly shows how much is going on out there and two, I got sidetracked about halfway through editing this when I was doing the Deft Family segment.  Not only were all the guys at Deft super cool to hang out with, but Tyler Bereman's whips were unreal and I had way to many shots that I couldn't not use.  But this created a problem, with about 6 more days of footage there was only room for maybe three.
Sit back and check out some of what goes on in Cali.  If you're sensitive to lyrics, hit the mute button or something.  This is the latest song from Merk and I felt it went good with the slow motion (which is something I normally try to stay away from).  And don't forget to check out BTO Sports.com next time you need anything moto related:
