Tuesday Starwest

Best Blogger Tips
Starwest has proven to be the Tuesday hotspot for the Cali MX scene.  Ryne Swanberg, Aran Eversman, and myself (Danny Stuart) went out there to meet with Billy Laninovich.  About a mile from the track, we hooked a corner and found ourselves behind "Double D" Darryn Durham.  We followed him through the gates and realized that there were plenty of fast rippers at the track.  The waiver to sign in wasn't much different than some super fan's T-shirt after going to their first national.  Autographs all over, kids would pay money for that waiver.  But that's how it is out there, big names becomes expected.
What was originally going to be a video of Billy Laninovich turned into that and more.  Durham was out there riding for his first time since breaking his wrist and looked faster every lap.  Also looking quick was Josh Hansen who was trying to step it up a little after his A1 performance, while throwing some top notch whips in there too.  The front triple seemed to be the host of an un-announced whip contest.  Whether it was from the competitive drive all these guys have, or just for fun, everyone seemed to be floating themselves sideways over it.  Billy, known for having some of the best whips around, had everyone's attention.  His return to racing has been going good and he's got plenty of speed to work with.  For those of you who aren't too familiar with the name, just know that he's a cool down to Earth kid and you should be a fan.
On that note, check out what a typical day out at a Cali track is like:
